About
Monarca Group is one person with a long run at the sharp end, a written method, and a deliberate decision to work with a small number of firms properly rather than many badly.
The name
Monarch butterflies leave Canada each autumn and arrive in a handful of forests in Michoacán, in Mexico, having never been there before. It takes several generations. The one that arrives is not the one that set out, and none of them has seen the destination.
I grew up in the country those butterflies fly to, and I have spent my career doing the corporate version of the same trip: long programmes, handed between people, where the only thing that holds is the direction. Transformation is not a project with a launch date. It is a migration, and most of them fail because nobody keeps the heading once the original crew has moved on.
My own route was Mexico to the United Kingdom, then American technology companies, then a large British business, and now this. Fourteen years in, I still find the navigation more interesting than the destination.
The work
I wrote one, and it is on its second major version.
Most recently as EVP of Data Democratisation at Virgin Media O2, I built and ran the function: the operating model, the written standards, the way domains and data teams actually contract with each other, and the job descriptions underneath it. That work is documented in playbooks I authored and versioned, peer-reviewed by the senior team, then rewritten once reality had its say.
Before that, Salesforce and MuleSoft, where I learned how American companies build commercial discipline, and earlier, delivery and architecture work in London. The through line is the same: get the direction right, make the accountability explicit, and write it down so it survives the handover.
The method is mine and I will walk you through it. The documents belong to a former employer and stay where they are.
On the record
Every line here is either publicly linkable or something I will happily be questioned on. Nothing on this site is rounded up.

I have carried the accountability for a transformation, not just advised on one. That changes what you are willing to promise.
The test of the work is whether it survives me. Operating models, written standards, and coached leads outlast any adviser.
